Secondary Pathway 3: KS4 Careers - Princes Trust Presentation Skills

The aim of this unit is for our pupils to develop their understanding of the benefits and different purposes presentations have, as well as develop the skills needed to give a presentation. Pupils choose a presentation topic, do the research around that topic, write and prepare their presentation and practice delivering it. Pupils will also identify and use language for different purposes and audiences: information, argument, persuasion, instructions and demonstrate good presentation skills. They have an opportunity to discuss issues they care about, a hobby, a story from their life, an opinion etc. They will prepare notes they want to use to deliver their presentation and handouts or other written materials for the audience. Pupils will be encouraged to work with a partner to review each other’s presentations, give feedback and make necessary changes.
