Primary Pathway 1

Throughout this pathway children will cover the 6 key areas in a meaningful way that reflects their abilities:

Self-awareness- here children will explore what they are good at and simple ways to be kind to others.

Self-care, Safety and Support- here children will cover basic aspects of safety and begin to recognise who can keep us safe.

Managing Feelings- here children will focus on beginning to identify their own feelings.

Changing and Growing- here children will explore how we change from babies to adults.

Healthy Lifestyles- here children will look at the basics of staying healthy e.g. handwashing, eating fruit and vegetables.

The World I Live In- here children will explore jobs they can do to help others and begin to recognise how we can respect each other’s differences.

Children will have lots of opportunities to explore a range of stimuli, sensory experiences, picture books, puppets, circle time and craft activities to begin to become experiential learners that feel positive about themselves and others. The children’s learning will be very child centred and geared around building on what is already  familiar to them with topics such as ‘What are my likes and dislikes?’ and ‘ Why is sharing important?’ .
