Learning offer

Our learning offer.

Hello and welcome to INSPIRE, based at Watermill Special School.

INSPIRE is an alternative education centre that balances the well-being of its students with the expectations of the National Curriculum. Our inclusive ethos gives children from all backgrounds a second chance at a successful education. Children can access our local authority provision or schools can choose to buy into our other services.

Our skilled and experienced staff strive to help children understand thier emotions, develop strratergies to improve their resilience, self-esteem and motivation whilst working in line with the National Curriculum. This allows our children to achieve their best possible outcomes through a graduated response.

INSPIRE offers education to pupils from reception up to year 8. Our fully qualified staff use a broad range of skills and tools, alongside many years of experience, to ensure that the individual needs of the children are met whilst also focusing on improving their attainment. Students are formally assessed to identify improvements within thier attainment. The mental well-being of the children is also assessed through a variety of tools available to our staff.

INSPIRE work alongside other agencies to form part of a multi-agency mechanism which enables schools to sustainably enhance their inclusive ethos and practice. This results in our staff being confident in working with children and families to offer them the support needed to reduce educational barriers.

Children will work within an appropriate classroom following a structured routine. Students have access to many learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom.
