Information For Parents

Information For Parents.

INSPIRE Inclusion Centre aims to support pupils in a holistic way. Parents are key to the process and are invited to attend a meeting at INSPIRE before a pupil starts. Parents have the oppurtunity to see the classroom, share information, meet the staff and ask any questions they may have.

INSPIRE have six classes and offer Outreach support to schools. The classes are:

The Prevention class: This class supports children who need some time to reflect on their choices for a short time. The maximum amount of time in this class is 10 days. This class runs from 9:30-12:30. A minibus service is used for this class.

The Intervention Class: This class is for a 6 week period and supports children at the INSPIRE centre and back at school. The timetable for this class is mainly in the afternoon. Parents are invited to attend our family learning sessions and again a minibus service is provided.

The Plus class: This is the Local Authority permanent exclusion class. Pupil's who are permanently excluded from their Primary School or directed to us by the Local Authority  will attend this class. Timetables are individualised and can vary depending on a pupil's needs. Family learning also takes place with this class. A minibus service is available. There are two classes with the Plus Class Provision, these two classes are Asteroids and Comets.

Shining Stars class: The Local Authority directs children into this class. This class accepts pupils from reception to year two.

Stepping Stones: This is a class in which children are directed by the Local Authority. The class accepts pupils aged from reception to year 6. Family learning is each Wednesday for pupils and parents/carers with this class. A mini bus service is available.

At the end of a placement there will be an integration meeting to discuss a child's transition into a school and create an action plan to promote success.
