Half Term.

As half term arrives this Friday we have tried to keep school as normal as possible for you and our pupils. We have had to tighten up on a lot of areas such as parents visiting and vastly reducing the contact our pupils have with the public on school trips. As I write this on Wednesday 21st October we have still had no confirmed cases of staff or pupils with the virus. Our attendance is average for this time of year despite more pupils being requested to stay at home with minor colds etc. Thank you for supporting us with this. However looking around the city at other schools it’s just a matter of time until we have to send pupils and staff home to self-isolate. Everyone should have had a phone call home to discuss with teachers the implications of this along with other issues you would normally discuss at a parents evening. This Friday we will have a non-uniform day. We will not be collecting the usual £1 as we are asking you to donate something for our Harvest Food Bank collection. Many of you have already sent items in, however if you have not as yet, we would ask you to send an item for the collection as a way of increasing our donation and allowing your child to wear non-school uniform for this Friday. On Friday morning we will be having an Online Teams assembly as we have been doing every week, where the school community comes together sat in their classrooms using cameras and large screens. We will talk about Harvest Assembly, our collection for the Food Bank and have a Scarecrow competition. There is a Staff Training day on Monday 2nd November, so the children will start back, all being well, on Tuesday 3rd November. Hoping you are all keeping safe and well – Mr May
